Jurgen Klopp singled out Socceroos goalkeeper Maty Ryan ahead of Liverpool’s trip to Brighton, while also praising Mitch Langerak.
Ryan has been a standout for Brighton this season and Klopp will be relieved to know the Australian shot-stopper is on international duty with the Socceroos in the UAE.
The Liverpool boss is familiar with Australia goalkeepers having coached Mitch Langerak during his time at Borussia Dortmund.
“I didn’t really know it before I came to England, but Mitch Langerak was my goalkeeper, my second goalkeeper, at Dortmund”. Klopp said.
“I always thought it was impossible that Australia would have a better goalkeeper than him.
“Yes, obviously, because he (Ryan) is fantastic on the line. It’s a really good team, a bit in the shadow of all the other teams. You think, ‘Oh right, we could have had this player as well’. So doing a brilliant job there, I really like that.”
