F1: Charles Leclerc on Sebastian Vettel relationship, Ferrari, F1 2020

Published

on

Charles Leclerc says his late-2019 crash with Sebastian Vettel gave the two Ferrari drivers a “good lesson” – and he insists it won’t happen again.

After a series of on-track disputes throughout last season – the pair’s first together at Ferrari – the battle between Leclerc and Vettel exploded at the Brazilian GP when they collided to race-ending effect.

Leclerc, F1’s emerging star, and Vettel, a four-time champion, are teammates again in 2020 and have proved that they won’t give an inch on-track – leading many to believe that more clashes are inevitable.

World champion Ott Tanak crashed out of the Monte Carlo Rally on Friday when he flew off the road on a mountainside in the Alps in the fourth stage.

The Estonian and his co-driver and compatriot Martin Jarveoja escaped unharmed but their Hyundai was badly damaged.

Tanak went off the road at high speed. The car’s nose dipped and hit the ground bouncing the vehicle into the air. It spun through a tree before landing on the mountain side. The two Estonians quickly climbed out of the car unscathed.

“Unless somebody pulls a rabbit out of a hat, then I think we’re set for a really exciting year between, Mercedes, Ferrari, ourselves. And it could be a real classic season.”

The mouth-watering prediction made by Red Bull’s Christian Horner in the closing stages of last year after the 2019 campaign finished with a competitive and unpredictable run of races.

Only two seats may have changed hands on the grid over the winter, but stability – both in terms of team personnel and F1’s rules themselves – offers the prospect of an even closer battle for honours this year.

Michael Schumacher ‘very altered’ after ski accident

Published

on

Michael Schumacher is “very altered” six years on from the horror ski accident which left him with a shocking brain injury, claims a leading neurosurgeon.

The Formula One ace nearly died when he fell and cracked his head on a rock while skiing off-piste in the French Alps in December 2013.

Although the Ferrari icon is now out of his long-term coma, surgeon Nicola Acciari claims he will still be changed from the man his millions of fans remember, reports The Sun.
