Champions League news: Neymar charged for insulting referee, PSG v Manchester United, Neymar rant

Published

on

UEFA has opened an investigation into Brazilian star Neymar for comments made after his club Paris Saint-Germain were eliminated from the Champions League last 16 by Manchester United.

The European governing body said on Friday the 27-year-old forward, who missed the match earlier this month with injury, was charged with “insulting/molesting acts against [a] match official.” United overturned a 2-0 defeat in Manchester to win 3-1 in Paris with the aid of a last-gasp penalty awarded by video review to progress on away goals.

If found guilty, Neymar could miss three Champions League matches.
