LA LIGA GIANTS MAKE FIRST MOVE FOR HAZARD
Real Madrid will kick off the bidding for Eden Hazard at $130million.
The Spanish giants know Chelsea will turn down the bid but this is the start of their statement of intent to land Hazard.
Real representatives have already visited London for talks on a deal in the hope of making the Belgian superstar the first of many high-profile signings by new boss Zinedine Zidane — he’s already sealed $84m Porto defender Eder Militao.
28-year-old Hazard has his heart set on working with Zizou and has turned down several contract offers that would make him the best-paid player in the Blues’ history.
THREE-WAY BATTLE FOR UNSETTLED INTER ACE
Manchester United reportedly face stiff competition from Juventus and Real Madrid for Mauro Icardi’s signature.
The Inter Milan striker wants to quit the club this summer after a being stripped of the captaincy following a long-running contract dispute.
Old Trafford chiefs are monitoring his situation but CalcioMercato reports that Serie A rivals Juve and La Liga giants Real are also in the hunt.
Chelsea have also looked at a move but their transfer ban is likely to hand the edge to Premier League rivals United.
Icardi has not played for Inter since refusing to feature against Rapid Vienna in the Europa League in February.
UNITED READY TO MEET STAR’S SIX-FIGURE WEEKLY PAY DEMANDS
Manchester United have joined the race for PSG contract rebel Adrien Rabiot.
The 23-year-old midfielder is free to leave the Ligue 1 giants this summer when his contract expires, but the Red Devils face stiff competition from Barcelona, Tottenham, Chelsea and Arsenal.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is preparing a list of targets for when the transfer window opens in the summer and has reportedly earmarked Rabiot as a potential replacement for his ageing midfield.
It is understood he would be looking for wages of around $374,000-a-week to sign with the Premier League giants as well as a staggering $19m signing-on fee.
